Arkenford commissioned by the Forces in Mind Trust
In 2013 the Forces in Mind Trust published the Transition Mapping Study. The study reviewed the entire transition process from military to civilian life at the time, outlining how it worked and how it was perceived by stakeholders and service leavers.
Among the study's key findings was an economic model which calculated the total cost of poor transition to the UK as a whole at £113 million in 2012. The report also contained over 40 recommendations, relevant to Government, charities, service providers and service leavers, on how to reduce the number of poor transitions.
We are delighted to announce that the Forces in Mind Trust have commissioned Arkenford to carry out an evaluation of the 2013 Transition Mapping Study on their behalf, as well as evaluating the upcoming 2017 Transition Mapping Study update.
By speaking to key stakeholders, policy makers and service deliverers we will learn more about the awareness, relevance and impact of the 2013 Transition Mapping Study on both policy development and service delivery, therefore providing the Forces in Mind Trust with vital information so that it may advise and enhance not just future publications, but continue to improve the whole transition process moving forwards.
"We are delighted to have been appointed to carry out the evaluation of the 2013 Transition Mapping Study and the 2017 Transition Mapping Study. Our goal is to learn from policy makers and service deliverers so we can provide clear insight and recommendations that enable the FiMT to further their support for military personnel transitioning to civilian life." - Ben Moxon, Director, Arkenford
